Deadly Dispute: Four Charged In Triple Shooting That Killed Maryland Teen: Police

Two adults and two minors are facing murder charges after a triple shooting in District Heights that left a 19-year-old man dead and injured two others, Prince George’s County Police announced.

Michael Zion Jones, 19, of Brandywine; Jacorey White, 19, of Capitol Heights; a 16-year-old male from Hyattsville; and a 17-year-old male from Fort Washington have all been charged in connection to the June 2024 murder of 19-year-old Upper Marlboro resident Anthony Ward III

Both juveniles are being charged as adults, police said.

Officers from the Prince George's County Police Department responded to reports of a shooting outside a business in the 5400 block of Marlboro Pike at approximately 3:15 p.m. on June 10. 

They found Ward dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. Two other victims—a man and a woman—suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Investigators determined that the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the suspects and victims, who were known to each other.

Jones, White, and the two juveniles have been charged with:

  • First-degree murder;
  • Second-degree murder;
  • Attempted first-degree murder;
  • Attempted second-degree murder;
  • Related offenses.

All four suspects are being held at the Department of Corrections without bond.
